DENVER, CO, April 12, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alan Golin Gass has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Fascinated by chemistry from a young age, Mr. Gass dedicated himself to studying the subject throughout high school, during which time his love of chemistry combined with his passion for photography. He began mixing his own chemicals to develop and print his photos, and established a camera club with five friends. Over the next few years, he fostered his passion for photography, becoming a staff photographer and assistant editor for the high school yearbook. Similarly, his chemistry pursuits led him to participate in the Westinghouse Science Talent Award. Although he didn't win an award, Mr. Gass received an honorable mention, which helped pave his way to Harvard University.
While wandering Harvard grounds, Mr. Gass stumbled on the architecture school, where he was captivated by an elderly man critiquing the students' work. Mr. Gass later found out that man was Walter Gropius. The man described architecture as a mixture of science and art, resonating heavily with his dual interests in chemistry and photography. With that knowledge, he met with his adviser, who suggested architecture as a career path. Upon graduating, Mr. Gass joined I.M. Pei & Associates as an architectural intern, where he remained for five years.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Gass gained valuable expertise in junior and partner positions with Fisher, Davis & James Sudler Associates, Gass Gay Associates, and James H. Johnson Associates. Likewise, he served as vice-chair of the Denver Art Commission. In the ensuing years, he honed his skill set with Anderson Architects, Lee Harris Pomeroy Associates, Harry Teague Architects, and more. A highly experienced architect with years of varied experience, he currently serves as president of the Babi Yar Park Foundation, owner of a private practice specializing in architecture and urban design, associate member of the Denver Art Museum, and member of the Cherry Creek Steering Committee. Likewise, he was affiliated with the Denver School of the Arts, the Denver Architecture Foundation Board, INC Zoning & Planning Committee, and Temple Emmanuel Board.
To remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Gass aligns himself with the American Institute of Architects, through which he is a Fellow. Dedicated to his community, he also serves as a board member of the Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in working on the Solar Energy Research Institute project, which he managed in a joint venture with two other architectural firms. Although he faced many challenges during the building process, he saw the project through to completion. Additionally, he was involved in designing Front Range Community College and several pro-bono projects. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to his perseverance and not letting negativity hinder him. Looking ahead, Mr. Gass continues to experience his career's continued growth and success.
