While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Sullivan takes the most pride in her impact on her students, many of whom have come to work for her family's company.
FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, April 12, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Christine Sullivan has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
As a child, Ms. Sullivan often played with dolls, pretending to be a teacher and using a fake chalkboard. Driven by these experiences and a love of reading, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Michigan State University in 2006. Subsequently, she began working as an English teacher at North Farmington High School and University Liggett School while pursuing higher education. She graduated from her alma mater with a master's degree in educational technology in 2011.
Ms. Sullivan's family had been in the real estate and restaurant business since 2003. Christine had overseen payroll and worked in the stores on weekends and during school breaks. As the family's business grew, Ms. Sullivan was asked by her family to choose between teaching and business due to the amount of time she was putting into both ventures. After carefully considering her options, she decided to pursue her work with her family's business full-time. Backed by her considerable expertise in several industries, she excels as an owner of TTD Enterprises, a real estate plaza in White Lake, Michigan, and Sully Homes LLC, through which she manages a real estate portfolio of rental homes and Airbnb's. Alongside her real estate work, Ms. Sullivan owns Tomey Lakes and Sully's on the Lake, a resort and restaurant on Houghton Lake, and Tomey Group LLC, through which she and her family operate 45 Jimmy John's locations statewide.
As one of the owners of Tomey Group, Ms. Sullivan oversees operations as the chief compliance officer. She handles human resources tasks such as payroll, human resources complaints, compliance with state and government relations, and more. Likewise, she is integral to decision-making processes, particularly regarding staffing and terminations, and performance reviews for the company's 596 employees across 45 locations. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, she aligns herself with the Society for Human Resource Management. Similarly, Ms. Sullivan is dedicated to the Detroit Athletic Club.
While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Sullivan takes the most pride in her impact on her students, many of whom have come to work for her family's company. Another standout aspect of her career was achieving success as a yearbook adviser at North Farmington High School. Under her wing, the yearbook team produced a full-color, 25-page magazine about the Holocaust, which featured insights from Paul Rusesabagina, who experienced the Holocaust in Africa, and another magazine about the City of Detroit. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she credits her success to her steadfast commitment to her profession, unyielding work ethic, and mentor and former history teacher, Rick Jones. Looking ahead, Ms. Sullivan intends to experience the continued growth of her career with Tomey Group.
