From 2019 to 2023, he was the general manager and chief revenue officer at PowerCoin, a member of the Heller Capital family of companies and an organization he started and helped grow to be one of the largest Bitcoin ATM deployers worldwide. Concurrently, from 2017 to 2023, he served as the chief development officer at Heller Capital. His role expanded at Paramount Management Group, another member of the Heller Capital group, from 2017 to 2020, where he was both the chief development and marketing officer and lead the company's M&A activities. Prior to these roles, Mr. Fernandez was the senior vice president at Cardtronics where he managed the company's international business growth from 2008 to 2017 and led Level Four Americas as president and chief executive officer from 1999 to 2008.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Fernandez is an active member of several relevant organizations which further exemplify his dedication and influence in his field. He served as co-chair of the Latin American wing of the ATM Industry Association and is currently a founder and co-chair of the Crypto Currency ATM Deployers Forum. Furthermore, he was co-founder and board director for Procesa in Mexico and a member of the National ATM Council. In honor of his contributions, he was notably bestowed with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the ATM Industry Association, which marks a highlight in his career recognizing his contributions over two decades.
Mr. Fernandez's academic background laid the foundation for his illustrious career. He initially studied marketing and computer science at Seton Hall University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Following this accomplishment, he earned an MBA in international business at the University of Miami Herbert Business School.
