Mr. Jennings' career journey also includes a tenure as a business representative for IBEW Local 456 from 2000 to 2008, where he advocated for workers' interests and negotiated on their behalf. Prior to being merged with IBEW 456, Mr. Jennings held many local office positions in IBEW Local 358, last being Business Manager. To better support his professional path and lay a solid foundation for his future, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in labor studies from the National Labor College in 2007.
Mr. Jennings was a corrections officer for the Middlesex County Corrections Department prior to being accepted into the IBEW Local 358 Apprenticeship Program.
In addition to these achievements, from 1965 to 1969, Mr. Jennings served with distinction in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman and was attached to the U.S. Marine Corps in 1966. He volunteered for duty in Vietnam 67-68 and was awarded two Purple Hearts, reflecting his dedication and commitment to service.
Mr. Jennings also actively engages in community leadership. He has served as President of the Middlesex County Central Labor Council; Member of the Middlesex County Building & Construction Trades Council; Middlesex County Open Space Committee, Chaired the South-Central Middlesex County Flood Commission and a Councilman for the Borough of Jamesburg contributing to local political processes and fostering community engagement. Additionally, his volunteerism with his hard work and dedication have earned him prestigious accolades, including Labor Man of the Year by the Middlesex County Central Labor Council; Construction Person of the Year by the Boys Scouts of America, and Friend of Labor Education by the Rutgers Union Leadership Academy.
Mr. Jennings has established a distinguished career marked by his dedication to personnel management, community leadership, and military service.
