Before pivoting into entrepreneurship, Ms. Wei served as an operations manager at the University Club of Chicago from 2013 to 2016, where she honed her skills in organizational management and customer service. During this time, she discovered creative solutions to help businesses grow and succeed, inspiring her to establish her own business. Commencing Magic Promotions Inc. in 2013, she concurrently worked for the University Club of Chicago for three years. With the increasing demand for her services, Ms. Wei resigned from corporate America in 2016, providing her freedom to operate her company on a full-time basis. Notably, Magic Promotions Inc.'s 10th anniversary was held on September 22, 2023, at Embassy Suite Hilton in Noblesville, Indiana, where the business, its team and its global client base celebrated the success of its endeavors.
Ms. Wei's career trajectory includes tenures as a front office supervisor and manager on duty at Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Bloomingdale, Illinois, between 2012 and 2013 and as a guest service agent at Hilton Chicago & Towers from 2011 to 2012. Ms. Wei's early experiences in hospitality truly shaped her approach to customer service and how she leads her team at Magic Promotions, Inc.
Born in China, Ms. Wei relocated to the United States as an immigrant 15 years ago, having commenced her life in America as an exchange student. To prepare for her career, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business English from the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in 2008. After immigrating to the United States, she received a Master of Science in hospitality and tourism management from Roosevelt University in Chicago in 2011.
Throughout her career, Ms. Wei's professional journey has been complemented by her active involvement with industry-related organizations. A former vice president of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association, she has been affiliated with the American Hotel and Lodging Association, the Advertising Specialty Institute and the American Advertising Federation of Indianapolis. Moreover, Ms. Wei is dedicated to community service, assisting underserved communities as part of the Eleanor Roosevelt Society. In 2022 and 2023, she also hosted free-of-charge monthly events, titled the Indy B2B Community Event, to bring together entrepreneurs and business leaders to learn from industry experts in relation to their expertise in marketing, branding and customer service. In addition, Ms. Wei and her team have helped nonprofit organizations build websites to share with supporters and potential donors to help fundraise and promote their endeavors. Adjacent to her professional ventures, she volunteers at her local church, where she teaches English, and at her children's school in their reading program.
