Since joining A&M 22 years ago, Col. Roberti successfully managed the firm's public sector services in New York for over a decade as its original chief executive officer. In this role, he was responsible for building and leading its expansion and incorporating leading turnaround strategies for public benefit.
Inspired by his parents, who both served in the military, Col. Roberti enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve, honorably serving with the U.S. Department of Defense, the Connecticut National Guard, the Florida National Guard, the Army Reserve, and the U.S. Army, rising to colonel before retiring in 2000. Upon his retirement, he became a major shareholder of Duckhead Apparel, a small company in Atlanta that he restructured and sold to Tropical Sportswear International in Tampa, Florida, in 2001. Shortly thereafter, Col. Roberti was approached by one of the founders of A&M in 2002 to join the organization.
Previously, Col. Roberti excelled in various high-level positions, including as the chairperson and chief executive officer of a division of Zale Corporation in Dallas from 1984 to 1987 and subsequently as the president and chief executive at Brooks Brothers between 1987 and 1995. During an earlier stage of his career, he excelled as the vice president and general merchandise manager at Mervyn's in Hayward, California, as the executive vice president at Mass Brothers Division Allied Corporation in Tampa, as the division merchandise manager at Robinson's Florida Division Associated Dry Goods Company in Saint Petersburg, Florida, and as a buyer for D.M. Read's Division Allied Corp in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Among other noteworthy positions, Col. Roberti was an adjunct professor and lecturer at several U.S. institutions, including his alma mater, Sacred Heart University, Yale School of Management, Stamford University, the University of Guam, and Baruch College. Moreover, he held numerous board positions and was the interim superintendent of schools at Saint Louis Public Schools. Col. Roberti has remained active as a third-party fiduciary for the Government of Guam Department of Education from 2009 through 2023 and Puerto Rico Department of Education since 2020. He also served as a senior advisor to the emergency financial manager for the Detroit Public Schools in 2010. He also served as a financial advisor for Assured Guaranty in Stockton, California, in 2013 and for COP Holders City of Detroit, Detroit Bankruptcy, in 2013, as a chief restructuring officer for US Common Wealth in 2012, and as Chairman of the Board of Department of Defense security contractor from 2013 to 2016.
As a loyal member of his community, Col. Roberti has been involved with numerous educational and nonprofit organizations, including as a member of the board of directors for the Institute for the Study of War in Washington, D.C., since 2011 and as a board of trustees for Loyola University in New Orleans from 2016 through 2022. Since 2022, he has served on the Board of Governors of USO. He has also been a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Brooklawn Country Club, The Union League Club of New York, the Army Navy Club in Washington, D.C., and, among others, the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club in Florida.
Educated in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Col. Roberti earned a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Sacred Heart University in 1969. He subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration in finance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 1987. Moreover, Col. Roberti garnered professional designations from LinkedIn in communicating about culturally sensitive issues and unconscious bias in 2020.
For his tireless commitment to the community, Col. Roberti was named as the Boy Scout of the Year in New York and received an award from the Jewish Federation. He was also recognized with an Alumni Achievement Award from Sacred Heart University.
