Her expertise was honed through her previous role as an Addictions Therapist at VA Butler Healthcare in Butler, Pennsylvania, from 2017 to 2019, where she provided specialized care to veterans grappling with addiction.
Dr. Jackson-Price's commitment to supporting those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault began earlier in her career. She served as an installation Victim Advocate for the U.S. Marine Corps from 2006 to 2008, at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and from 2008 to 2012 at Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Dr. Jackson-Price's dedication to the field also included her role as an Addictions Counselor at Central Texas Veterans Health Care System in Waco, Texas, from 2012 to 2015 and as an Addictions Counselor at South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio, Texas, between 2015 and 2017.
Dr. Jackson-Price is recognized for her subject matter expertise in sexual assault and domestic violence and is lauded for achieving such a high level of proficiency in these areas. As she looks ahead, she envisions dedicating herself further to enhancing the lives of others through her work while also dismantling misconceptions surrounding mental health.
In addition to her full-time career endeavors, Dr. Jackson-Price was a volunteer Victim Advocate for Marine and Family Services, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina from 2001 to 2006, responsible for responding to after-hours calls concerning domestic violence and sexual assault. She also volunteered with the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Georgia and prior to that, Dr. Jackson-Price honorably served her country in the U.S. Navy for six years.
Building upon her extensive experience, Dr. Jackson-Price received an Associate of Arts in liberal arts and sciences and liberal studies from Coastal Carolina Community College in 2003, a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Campbell University in 2004, and a Master of Arts in counseling from Webster University in 2007, and a Doctor of Philosophy in forensic psychology in 2021 from Walden University. While in college, she was elected into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, where she notably served as the Vice President of Records for the Coastal Carolina Community College chapter. Additional academic accomplishments to Dr. Jackson-Price's credit include induction into the Psi Chi International Honor Society of Psychology for the Walden University chapter. Dr. Jackson-Price holds credentials as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist through the North Carolina Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board and as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor through the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors.
Dr. Jackson-Price's affiliations also include membership in the American Counseling Association, and Montford Point Marine Association Inc. In light of her accomplishments, she was presented with an Academic Excellence Award by the former North Carolina governor James B. Hunt Jr. while studying at Coastal Carolina Community College. Dr. Jackson-Price also received a Good Conduct Award for her contributions during her military service and a Meritorious Unit Citation from the U.S. Marine Corps for her outstanding civil service in Base Telecommunications at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
