Prior to his current role, Mr. Gill's foundational industry experience was gained as a piping superintendent at Local 338 Plumbers Steamfitter, beginning in 1975. He subsequently established his own company, Metro Mechanical, which was eventually absorbed into Kay Flo Industries following an explosion at a chemical plant, which completely leveled the facility. A considerable milestone in his career was the project that led to the plant's reconstruction, after which he was called to serve as a senior facilities manager due to his meticulous record-keeping and process safety management. His leadership skills were further honed as an instructor at ABC - JTAC Adult Training, through which he shaped the next generation of professionals in the field, and as a consultant at the Turner Construction Company from 2007 to 2010.
Mr. Gill got his start in plumbing and mechanical work at his father's company at the age of 12. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, completing his active duty and remained in the Army Reserves for 8 years as a Recruiter. He completed a five-year apprenticeship program, becoming a licensed steam fitter, plumber, mechanic, and welder. He worked on various government installations, including missile bases and atomic powerhouses, primarily located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Mr. Gill taught plumbing, heating, cooling, and steamfitting at Western Iowa Tech Community College after earning his degree in Construction Management in 1974. Following this accomplishment, he attained a Master's Degree in Project Management from Villanova University in 2021.
