Beyond her legal pursuits, Ms. Brinkley has explored her creative side as an actress, model, screenwriter, and co-manager at On the Brink Productions.

Apart from her civil commitments, Ms. Brinkley enjoys diverse hobbies, including chess. Despite being a novice player, her skills led her to compete in the U.S. Women's Open Chess Championship in Las Vegas, where she impressively ranked 36th out of the top 100.
Building upon her professional achievements, Ms. Brinkley's educational background laid the foundation for her success. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from University of California, Berkeley and a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1981 and 1991, respectively. Additionally, Ms. Brinkley was admitted to practice law by the California Bar Association. Ms. Brinkley also completed the North Las Vegas Police Department Citizen Academy.

She is also a member, former board member, and past secretary of the Solano County Black Lawyers Association.
