SANTA FE, NM, April 26, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gary Brett Clavio has been recognized for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With over 30 years of experience in his field, Mr. Clavio has become an established expert in urban and regional planning, currently serving as the planning manager for Santa Fe County. In this role, he oversees a broad spectrum of planning initiatives, including comprehensive land use, open space and trails, transportation, and capital improvement planning. He served in the transportation department for the same county for several years before being promoted to planning manager. Over the course of his tenure in this role, he has been particularly proud of spearheading a $20 million project for the construction of a new road in Santa Fe, securing half of its funding and significantly enhancing regional connectivity.
Before joining Santa Fe County's planning department, Mr. Clavio worked as a land use planning consultant and international urban design consultant for companies in Los Angeles from 2012 to 2013 and served at Intel Corporation and Omnitrans as a project coordinator and manager earlier in his career. Soon after his professional journey began as an intern and apprentice for an architect/planner/author in Berkeley, California, Mr. Clavio founded Clavio Designs and Planning in 2001, an architecture, planning, and consulting enterprise, which he still maintains today.
As a result of his experiences and expertise, Mr. Clavio has been privileged to conduct intensive training for the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, instructing new planners on aligning national economic goals with the United Nations' sustainable development goals and implementing these objectives in the realm of urban planning. He is also a member of several prestigious organizations, such as the International Society of City and Regional Planners, the Transportation Research Board Committee of the National Academy of Science, and the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Santa Fe, NM.
Mr. Clavio earned a Bachelor of Science in city and regional planning from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 1998 after completing an Associate of Arts in architecture at the City College of San Francisco in 1995. Although he transitioned away from architecture primarily in his career, he is still deeply engaged with cultural and creative pursuits. As a cultural ambassador for the Asia-Pacific CEO Association, he works to advance global industrial cooperation and innovation efforts and has also written and contributed to professional journals on various international planning topics.
Looking ahead, Mr. Clavio is keen on expanding his influence within education and mentorship in urban planning while exploring opportunities for business cooperation, art, and to author books that reflect his love for poetry and writing.
