Before his tenure at HP, Mr. Nutter served as Director of corporate strategy at Dell Technologies from 2016-18, where he played an integral role in supporting post-merger initiatives for seven strategically aligned businesses following Dell's $67B acquisition of EMC, then the largest tech M&A deal in history. His focus included defining platforms and core technologies that could drive the future of the business. Dell has seen incredible stock growth of over 4x, to record highs, since 2018. From 2015-16, Mr. Nutter was a consulting manager with Accenture Strategy's competitiveness center of excellence (CCoE), enhancing clients' operational models and performance. An earlier role included serving as a sales and marketing consultant at ZS Associates from 2012-15, after successfully completing an internship with ZS in 2011 and serving as an ambassador while at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Mr. Nutter honed his financial acumen on Wall Street as a manager for Deutsche Bank's Asset Management Group Technology and Operations team from 2009-10. He began his career as an intellectual property and strategy consultant at Charles River Associates (CRAI) in NYC from 2004-09, working on tech advisory and IP litigation matters.
A strong educational background laid the foundation for Mr. Nutter's professional achievements and success. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Villanova University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2004 with a 3.97 GPA and was ranked #5 in his class. During his Junior year, Mr. Nutter spent eight months living in Austria studying international business and German through IES Abroad (Institute for the International Education of Students) while also enrolled in German studies taught at the University of Vienna. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA), focusing on strategy, management, and decision sciences, from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in 2012. Mr. Nutter graduated with a 3.87 GPA, earning him both Dean's List and Fuqua Scholar honors.
Mr. Nutter attributes much of his success to humility, flexibility, and a life-long commitment to learning. On track to volunteer over 200 hours in 2024, Mr. Nutter contributes his time weekly to organizations such as the Cambrian Park Little League (CPLL), where he has been coaching youth baseball since 2022, Fammatre Elementary School, and the City of San Jose, and HP sponsored activities in the Bay Area (including beach cleanups, STEAM kit assembly, and Palo Alto HQ site council events). His extracurricular involvement extends to advisory roles and leadership positions with academic institutions and non-profits.
