From 2006 to 2008, he was the chief financial officer at Mountain Pure Water, where he managed the company's financial strategies and operations. He also served as controller for Twin City Bank from 2005 to 2006, overseeing the bank's financial reporting and compliance. His leadership skills were further honed during his tenure as chief operating officer at Improved Construction Methods from 2002 to 2003, after serving as their chief financial officer from 1999 to 2002. Additionally, Mr. Gillert provided legal and financial consulting services through his own practice from 1996 to 1998 and led Mountainsmith Inc. as its chief executive officer from 1994 to 1995. His discipline and commitment are also reflected in six years of service with the Ninth Engineer Battalion of the United States Army.
Mr. Gillert's academic background laid the foundation for his professional success. He initially studied accounting at Bob Jones University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1972. Following this accomplishment, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law in 1981. His qualifications are further enhanced by such designations as a Certified Public Accountant, as well as the completion of continuing education programs via the Greater Little Rock Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.
