Mr. Fernandez is a seasoned, successful and performance-driven executive with over 40 years of professional experience in domestic and international supply chain and operations management, He currently is the president of AFF Advisors LLC, a consulting firm he founded in 2016, specializing in supply chain strategy development and implementation, organizational assessments, mergers and acquisitions due diligence, productivity effectiveness, supply chain network optimization and innovation commercialization. Additionally, he currently serves on several boards for public and non-profit organizations including Americold Realty Trust, Inc., Utz Brands, Inc. and his alma mater, Lafayette College. He is also an advisor for Bowery Farming.
During his career, Mr. Fernandez gained valuable expertise and had increasing managerial and executive roles in supply chain management and operations, finance, procurement and R&D, culminating in his role as Chief Supply Chain Officer for Pinnacle Foods, Inc. and Cadbury, Plc. He has also worked with companies such as Kraft Foods, Dr. Pepper/Seven-up, PepsiCo and Procter & Gamble. Additionally, he has worked as a consultant with The Canaan Group, where his clients included large multi-Nationals, such as DuPont, General Electric, Marriott, Northwest Airlines, and United Technologies and as a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Co. Mr. Fernandez has also led the development and implementation of a global shared services and outsourcing program and the process re-engineering effort for a global ERP initiative. He has traveled extensively domestically, internationally and has lived abroad in Mexico and England.
An expert in his field, Mr. Fernandez earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Lafayette College in 1981. Driven to remain abreast of changes in his field, he aligns himself with the Association of Chemical Engineers, the National Association of Corporate Directors, and the Latino Corporate Directors Association. In conjunction with his professional and Board work, he has contributed to his community and those less fortunate through his involvement with Catholic Charities for Fairfield County in CT, his Parish, St. Mary of Ridgefield, CT, as a Knight in the Order of Malta and as a missionary with Helping Hands Medical Mission, serving in Guatemala. He is also passionate about providing educational access for minority students and has funded scholarships at various colleges and universities.
While his career has been filled with many standout moments, Mr. Fernandez takes the most pride in his tenure as chief supply chain officer for Cadbury, PLC and Pinnacle Foods, Inc., where he supported market and company growth at both companies through the commercialization of new product innovations, optimizing supply chain networks, implementing productivity improvement programs and the building of high performing teams. Though a good education, hard work, determination and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to the unwavering support from his wife, Susan, his daughters Christina, Elise and Anna and his parents, as well as the guidance of many mentors' throughout his career. Looking toward the future, Mr. Fernandez intends to continue providing consulting support, serving on boards, mentoring minority students, and contributing to his community through his involvement with his church and the Order of Malta.
