GRAND LAKE, CO, May 14, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mark W. Adams, DDS, MS, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With a career spanning over 40 years, Dr. Adams established himself as a distinguished figure in the field of dentistry, specifically becoming known for his expertise in prosthodontics. His career was marked by significant roles with ClearChoice Management Services LLC, where he served as its Chief Clinical Officer (2021-2023), Vice President, Clinical Affairs (2014-2021), and Clinical Director (2006-2018).
Dr. Adams joined ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers as the founding prosthodontist to open the first center in Denver, CO. Over the next 17 years he played a leading role with the company before retiring in 2022. Using the founding principles established by Dr. Adams, the company now boasts a nationwide network of over 100 centers across the United States and has treated in excess of 150,000 patients.
ClearChoice was the first entity to place the patient experience at the forefront by providing an innovative procedure (the All-On-Four full-arch dental procedure) in a convenient, all-in-one location which brought together clinicians, technology and the dental laboratory. This provided patients with an ailing and failing dentition a completely new implant supported dentition in one day (thus avoiding the need for complete dentures). Dr. Adams studied with the innovator of the All-On-Four procedure, Dr. Paulo Malo, in Europe, and brought the clinical protocols to the United States. The patient centric model developed by ClearChoice as well as the clinical protocols instituted are now the standard of care in implant dentistry throughout the world.
Prior to his time with ClearChoice, Dr. Adams had a private prosthetic dentistry practice in Michigan for 23 years.
Additionally, Dr. Adams' commitment to education and mentorship was evident through his tenure on the teaching faculty at Pride Institute from 1994 to 1998. Leading up to his professional accomplishments, his academic background laid the foundation for his illustrious career. He earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1983 and a Master of Science in prosthodontics from the University of Michigan in 1985, following which time he taught as a clinical assistant professor from 1985 to 1986. These qualifications and experiences not only equipped him with the necessary skills but also instilled in him a persistence, focus, and desire to create an impact within his profession.
Beyond his clinical and educational roles, Dr. Adams has contributed significantly to dental literature. He has co-authored/authored numerous articles focusing on advanced dental implant techniques and treatments for complex cases of maxillary atrophy and mandibular anatomical variants. See list below.
Throughout his career, Dr. Adams has been recognized for his contributions to dentistry and prosthodontics, including an appointment by Governors John Hickenlooper and Jared Polis to the Colorado Board of Dental Examiners in 2017, which highlighted his standing in the dental community. Since 2023, he has served as a Salt Dental Collective board member, a position in which he provides strategic direction to a private equity-sponsored dental support organization, and also holds membership with the Colorado Dental Board, where he has contributed since 2017; the American Dental Association; and the Academy of Osseointegration.
Dr. Adams would like to acknowledge Dr. William Kotowicz, Dr. Richard Shick, Dr. Don Miloni, Dr. Palo Malo, Kevin Mosher and Andrew Kimball.
Now in retirement, Dr. Adams' goal is to share his experience as a board member, coach and mentor and to enjoy his time with his coming grandchildren. He also enjoys outdoor activities including cross-country skiing.
