CINCINNATI, OH, May 23, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marc Stranz has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Marc Stranz began his pharmacy career at the Medical College of Virginia in the 1970's, where he ran the Virginia Drug Information Center while he learned about infusion therapies. On gaining his PharmD, he went to Lubbock in 1981 with the goal of establishing a home infusion business, a relatively new service that provided intravenous medications to patients in their homes. That business flourished and, on its acquisition, he began a career of establishing home infusion services across the US for several national providers. By the year 2000, he was running Omnicare's infusion division and in 2002 he moved to Coram Specialty Infusion as Senior Vice President of Clinical and Strategic Operations. On Coram's acquisition, he moved to BioScrip as Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs. BioScrip's acquisition saw him move to BioMatrix Specialty Pharmacy as Chief Clinical Officer until 2022. Beginning in 2015 and continuing now, Dr. Stranz began consulting to the industry. Stranz Crossley Inc is a successful business working with pharmaceutical and device manufacturers, accreditation providers (ACHC), and multiple health systems and providers of specialty and infusion services.
Dr. Stranz's decades of leadership in defining and documenting clinical practice across multiple organizations made much of his work the foundation for infusion and specialty services in general. Marc has also worked with several professional associations, helping develop the infusion standards of practice. Those efforts lead to ASHP's Sterile Compounding Certification program and the continuing development of drug tolerance standards for INS, AVA, and WoCoVA. His publications began while working in drug information and continue to date with contributions to national and international standards of practice.
