Before her current role, Ms. Hollingsworth was a Secretary and Grants Management Specialist with the National Cancer Institute from 1987 to 2000. This position allowed her to gain valuable experience in managing projects within a highly specialized and critical area of public health. Before joining the National Cancer Institute, she contributed her skills to the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism between 1983 and 1997. Earlier in her career, Ms. Hollingsworth held a part-time position with the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Ms. Hollingsworth's academic background includes completing college coursework and earning a high school diploma. Beyond her professional achievements, she is deeply involved in civic activities. Ms. Hollingsworth serves as a historian for the National Capital Baptist Convention of Washington, D.C. She also volunteers at her church in the roles of Deacon, and Ministry Leader for the Bylaws, Newsletter, and Wedding Ministries, and serves as Secretary for the Christian Education and Recreation Ministries. These roles highlight her commitment to serving her community and utilizing her organizational skills to benefit others.
Ms. Hollingsworth plans to retire soon with aspirations to start an organization dedicated to assisting seniors without family support. Her goal is to help with transportation and medical appointments to improve their quality of life.
