A seasoned leader with years of expertise in higher education and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, Ms. Guy excels as an adjunct instructor at National Louis University, through which she teaches human resource management courses, covering such topics as employee engagement, talent development, and performance management. By utilizing real-world case studies, simulations, and guest speakers, she effectively engages students. Similarly, she collaborates with colleagues to design and implement assessments that measure student learning outcomes and conducts research into diversity and inclusion, human resources technology, and more. In addition to her work with National Louis University, Ms. Guy managed full-cycle recruitment processes as the principal of Guydelines Consulting Group LLC.
Previously, she launched a pro-bono program supporting Black-led and serving nonprofits and facilitated over 50 interactive diversity, equity, and inclusion learning and development programs as the vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion of CCS Fundraising. During the early stages of her career, Ms. Guy gained valuable professional expertise in management roles with Major, Lindsey & Africa, Foley & Lardner LLP, the University of Chicago, and Ivy League Tutoring.
An expert in her field, Ms. Guy holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and English from Spelman College, a Master of Education in human resource development from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a professional certificate in project management and strategic communications from the University of Chicago. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Ms. Guy aligns herself with the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, the Society for Human Resource Management, the National Diversity Council, the Black Women Lawyers Association of Greater Chicago, the Association of Law Firm Diversity Professionals, and many more.
In conjunction with her work, Ms. Guy contributes to her community through board positions with South Side YMCA, Margaret's Village, and Jackson Park Advisory Council. Likewise, she has served as a mentor and motivational speaker for the Polished Pebbles Girls Mentoring Program. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in her tenure with Major, Lindsey & Africa, where she became the youngest member of the senior leadership team. During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Guy also created a social justice initiative alongside her colleagues and nonprofit organizations that focused on pipeline development for African Americans.
Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, Ms. Guy credits her success to her mentors, making mistakes and learning from them, and her positive outlook. In the coming years, she intends to experience her career's continued growth and success. Her ultimate goal is to expand her business and continue giving back to her community.
