Ms. Lewis's academic accomplishments and training have played a crucial role in her professional advancement. She earned an associate degree in computer and data processing from Henry Ford Community College in 1975 before pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in management of human resources from Spring Arbor University, which she completed in 1988. Additionally, Ms. Lewis holds a Master of Science in human resource and organization development from American University, which she earned in 1992.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Lewis remains actively involved in civic service. She served as a founding board member for FFDAS which laid the foundation for Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit, volunteered as an ESL tutor, and provided mentorship and guidance for many public-sector and non-profit organization leadership teams. Ms. Lewis is proud to take the opportunity to make a tangible impact on her community. She also finds balance and inspiration through DIY projects, paper crafting, golfing, cooking, reading, and enjoying music.
