Additionally, he has served as chairman of plastic surgery at Scripps Memorial Hospital and President of QUAD A the gold standard of accreditation of ambulatory surgical facilities. He started the Hot Topic Taskforce for the national plastic surgery organizations to evaluate and report on the safety and efficacy of new technology and procedures.
Prior to embarking on his distinguished career in plastic surgery, Dr. Singer earned his medical degree from the State University of New York - Buffalo. He subsequently pursued extensive training in general surgery at Stanford Medicine before serving as a physician in the United States Navy for two years, an experience that provided him with invaluable skills and discipline. Following his military duties including time spent as a physician in Viet Nam, he continued his general surgery training at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital before completing his plastic surgery residency and serving as chief resident at Vanderbilt University.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Singer has been recognized with numerous awards, including being the recipient of the 2 most prestigious awards in aesthetic surgery: The Career Achievement Award as well as the Patient Safety Award from the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation and ASAPS. He was Chair of Plastic Surgery at Scripps Memorial Hospital – LaJolla and named the best plastic surgeon in San Diego and La Jolla. He also contributes as a Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery (voluntary) at the University of California San Diego.
