Mr. Ring's tenure at OSHPD was also marked by his commitment to excellence and ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, including one project where he was instrumental in drafting the code application notice for its integrated review process, which enabled the commencement of plan review on specific parts of the process. Earlier in his career, he worked as a structural engineer for various organizations between 1980 and 1988. During this formative period, Mr. Ring honed his structural analysis and design skills, laying the groundwork for future success in health care facility review and construction.
Mr. Ring's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from California State University Sacramento in 1980. Highly qualified in his field, he also obtained credentials as a licensed civil engineer, structural engineer and contractor, certifications that when combined with hands on construction underscores his comprehensive understanding of construction practices and regulations.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Ring is deeply involved in civic activities. Over 25 years ago, he helped found the Living Water Church in Elk Grove, California. Mr.Ring has also participated in numerous mission trips to Mexico, where he spearheaded the construction of several churches.
Mr. Ring plans to continue offering his consultancy services before gradually winding down. He is presently focused on completing a church project, which involves leading the process of constructing a new building on a commercial lot in Wilton, California, that he once owned and sold to the parish. Mr. Ring attributes much of his success to the critical thinking skills instilled in him during his childhood by his father, a commercial plumber. This upbringing, combined with his academic and professional experiences, has fostered a pragmatic approach to problem-solving that has served him well throughout his career.
