In her latest role, Romita reports directly to the segment chief compliance officer, where she is responsible for overseeing global compliance investigations, preparing and delivering compliance programs & communications to employees, and partnering with cross-functional teams on various enterprise-wide compliance projects. Her expertise spans labor relations, strategic communications, global operational compliance, and supply chain management.
Before joining Baker Hughes, Romita made significant contributions as the regional human resources leader for North America at GE Oil & Gas from 2014 to 2016 and as the human resources leader for subsea systems and drilling between 2012 and 2014. Her journey in human resources began with roles at Dell Inc. in 2005 and progressed through roles at Aon Risk Services and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.
As Romita progressed in her leadership positions, she realized the significance of being an authentic leader, focused on execution and proficiency in managing the business and the employees. She believes maintaining a healthy balance between these aspects is crucial in driving successful outcomes. Highly educated, Romita received a bachelor's degree in cell biology from the University of Texas, studied industrial and labor relations at Cornell University, and received a Jurisprudence Degree with a focus on labor and employment law from Tulane University School of Law. She furthered her expertise by obtaining certifications in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace through the University of South Florida and a professional in human resources certification through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Aside from her extensive education, Romita remains aware of industry trends as a member of SHRM and, through her involvement in the DEI Council, focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Beyond her professional endeavors, she is deeply involved in civic activities. Romita formerly served as the executive vice president of One Bread Foundation Inc. and is a business mentor for the Women's Energy Network Houston.
