Mr. Schwartzlow embarked on a distinguished career with the United States Marine Corps in 1966, dedicating over three decades to military service before retiring as a colonel in 1997. Following his retirement from the Marine Corps, Mr. Schwartzlow transitioned to the private sector, joining NextiraOne as a data manager. In this capacity, he led a team of over 30 technicians across the Midwest, specializing in the installation of digital equipment and computer networks.

Mr. Schwartzlow's post-military career also saw him embracing his passion for writing. As an author, he has contributed significantly to literature with works that reflect his diverse experiences and interests. His bibliography includes titles such as "Airborne Marine," "Thirty Years, Ten Months and Nine Days," "1384 Short Stories," and an impressive collection of 40 books covering topics from scuba diving and cave explorations in Okinawa to camping adventures.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Schwartzlow has been an active member of several industry-related organizations. His affiliations include the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2708, the American Legion in Wisconsin, and the Marine Corps League Janesville Detachment in Janesville, WI, where he also served as co-founder and first chairman of the Edgerton Alumni Foundation and chairman of the Edgerton Bowhunters. These roles underscore his commitment to community service and veteran affairs.

Mr. Schwartzlow's academic background played a pivotal role in shaping his career trajectory. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater in 1966. This educational foundation provided him with the skills necessary to navigate both his military service and subsequent professional pursuits effectively.

In addition to his professional achievements and contributions to various organizations, Mr. Schwartzlow has been recognized with numerous awards for his military service and bravery. These accolades include the Defense Superior Service Medal; the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star with Combat V for his service in Vietnam; the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his tenure at the Pentagon; the Meritorious Service Medal from Marine Corps Forces Pacific; three Navy Commendation Medals; the National Defense Service Medal; the Vietnamese Service Medal; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; the Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge; the Defense Information Systems Agency Badge; and the Distinguished Service Medal. His leadership during a volcanic eruption search and rescue mission in Iceland further highlights his dedication to humanitarian efforts.

Outside of his professional life and community involvement, Mr. Schwartzlow is a devoted family man who cherishes spending time outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, camping, or mountain climbing. An avid traveler, he has explored 54 countries and islands. Looking ahead, he is committed to continuing his work as an author.
