COLUMBIA, SC, June 06, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kendra Pressley has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Pressley commenced her career in the field of education subsequent to a personal experience that kindled her fervor for the profession. Following a family member's diagnosis of ADHD, she was motivated and committed to helping impact the lives of students. Her professional journey began as an RTI Assistant and progressed to encompass roles such as attendance secretary, early interventionist, and teacher. As a second-career educator, she derived fulfillment from supporting professional development and catering to students with individual education plans, thereby effecting a tangible impact on their educational paths. Furthermore, she formulated tailored lesson plans for small groups and facilitated reading and math activities, all aimed at nurturing a passion for learning.
Throughout her professional tenure, Ms. Pressley has amassed a wealth of expertise in the field of education, with a particular focus on special education. Commencing her career as a special education teacher and currently holding the position of assistant principal at a high school, she has consistently demonstrated a profound understanding of the educational landscape. Her responsibilities have encompassed monitoring activities, chairing and facilitating 504 meetings, providing guidance and support to educators, as well as supervising special services within the school.
Ms. Pressley obtained an Associate of Science degree from Spartanburg Methodist College and Piedmont Technical College. Subsequently, she furthered her academic pursuits by earning a Master of Arts in Special Education and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Fort Hays State University. Moreover, she possesses leadership certification in elementary and secondary education, thereby solidifying her standing as a highly regarded professional in the field of education. Ms. Pressley is dedicated to remaining informed about developments in the field. She is actively involved with the South Carolina Alliance of Black School Educators and the South Carolina Association of School Administrators. In addition to her professional commitments, she loves her church and actively participates in community service through her memberships in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., NAACP, and Prince Hall Order of Eastern Star. Her outstanding contributions were recognized when she was selected as the 2023 Best and Brightest 35 and Under.
Ms. Pressley has had a successful career, but she is most proud of the impact she has had on a student's life. She once encountered a student who was considering dropping out, but by changing her approach and connecting with the student, she was able to keep the student in school. While hard work and dedication have been crucial to her success, she attributes it to her faith in the Heavenly Father, as well as the support of her family and mentors. Looking ahead, Ms. Pressley aims to pursue a doctoral degree in educational leadership and become an author.
