Deborah S. Greenhut Honored for 50 Years of Service as an Educator and Author

An author, playwright, and educator, Deborah S. Greenhut is the founder of Creative Room for Learning



Over the past several decades, Dr. Greenhut has taught a variety of subjects at various colleges, universities and vocational-technical schools.

    EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ, June 07, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah S. Greenhut has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Over a professional career that has spanned 50 years, Dr. Greenhut has distinguished herself as an educator, public speaker, playwright, author, and illustrator in the greater New York City metropolitan area. Currently, she is the president of Creative Room for Learning, where she acts as a keynote speaker, author, and educator focusing on advocacy for the business, emotional, health, and practical needs of family caregivers.

Over the past several decades, Dr. Greenhut has taught a variety of subjects at various colleges, universities and vocational-technical schools, including English, public speaking, composition writing, writing for business and professions, and playwriting, to name a few. From 1986 to 2001, she developed and delivered a multitude of professional seminars in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands, covering topics such as assertiveness, team development, creative problem solving, time management, fiction writing, and technical writing. Her clients number in the hundreds, with such esteemed firms as Ernst & Young, Deloitte & Touche, and Rohm & Haas, among others.

Dr. Greenhut is also a playwright, and has presented her creative works over the past 25 years throughout the New York metro area and even at a theatre conference in Valdez, Alaska. As an author and illustrator, she has published eight books for children, including "Oh, the Shapes You Will See at the Circus," "A Child's Book of Shadows," and "Princess Violette and the Magic Hairbrush." She has also authored collections of poetry and fiction, and in 2022 wrote "The Hoarder's Wife: A Novel," which was published via Woodhall Press. In 2024, Dr. Greenhut published her book, "The Rational Caregiver," with AFGO Press.

A 1973 graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts in English, where she joined Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Greenhut went on to earn two master's degrees in English from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, before completing a PhD in English from Rutgers in 1985. She is also a certified professional life coach and, in November 2023, became a certified caregiving advocate.

She is a member of the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW), the International Society of Female Professionals (ISFP), the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, the Dramatists Guild of America, and the Princeton Research Forum, in addition to being Chair Emeritus of the Muller Works Foundation for the benefit of Jennifer MullerThe Works. Dr. Greenhut leads a Drama Club for Seniors in her local community.

Over the next five years, Dr. Greenhut has set a goal to empower and support as many family caregivers as possible. She believes that her success is largely due to the guidance and encouragement she received from her mentors throughout her life. One of her most influential mentors was her elementary school teacher, who played a pivotal role in nurturing her talents and abilities.
