Alongside her groundbreaking work with Omnium Circus, Ms. Lewis has been the owner of Lisa Lou Entertainment since 1986 and co-owner of Super Scientific Circus since 1994. These roles have allowed her to hone her skills in entertainment management and production. Additionally, she has served as a regional representative for Harmony Artists Inc. since 2020, further expanding her influence within the industry. Her tenure at Big Apple Circus as director of sales and community programs from 2017 to 2020 and as program coordinator for "Circus of the Senses" from 2013 to 2015 underscored her commitment to community engagement and accessibility in entertainment.
Ms. Lewis' early career included significant contributions as a clown with the Big Apple Circus Clown Care Unit, 1992-2004, and with Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey from 1986 to 1991. These experiences laid the foundation for her understanding of the circus industry and its potential for societal impact. Her memberships in the International Association of Accessibility Professionals and Disability:IN DC Metro reflect her ongoing commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in all facets of her work.
Her academic background reveals the roots of Ms. Lewis' success. She earned a bachelor's degree in theater (stage management) at Brandeis University in 1987 and a Master of Arts from the Gallatin Division at New York University in 1996. Her education began with specialized training in Clowning and Circus at Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Clown College in 1986.
