Before venturing into entrepreneurship, he dedicated a decade of service as the director of information technology at Montgomery Common Pleas Court from 2014 to 2024, whereupon he retired and went into business for himself.
Prior to this role, Mr. McNachtan served as the senior program manager at The Supreme Court of Ohio from 2006 to 2014, where he played a pivotal role in developing the Ohio Courts Network. This system has had a profound impact on various aspects of the justice system across the United States, enhancing pretrial proceedings, probation processes, and law enforcement efficiency.
Earlier in his career, Mr. McNachtan contributed his skills as a program manager in Montgomery County, where he worked in the children's services department from 1998 to 2005. During his tenure there, he was recognized for his expertise and asked to spearhead the transition of case management applications from pen and paper to digital products. He was also instrumental in developing the regional sieges application, now known as Justice Web, further showcasing his technical prowess. It was for his accomplishments throughout this period that he was eventually approached by both the Supreme Court of Ohio and Montgomery Common Pleas Court in the years to come.
To support his endeavors, Mr. McNachtan has been an active member of several organizations that have enriched his professional growth and network. Since 2021, he has been a core executive committee member of the National Association of Court Management. Additionally, since 2010, he has shared his knowledge and experience as an Ohio faculty member at the National Center for State Courts' Institute of Court Management.
Mr. McNachtan's academic background laid the groundwork for his successful career. After completing his undergraduate studies in political science and psychology at Malone University, he went on to attain an MBA in organization and management at Capella University. Further enhancing his expertise, Mr. McNachtan has obtained several certifications including as an ICM Fellow via The United Supreme Courts' National Center for State Courts and Certified Court Executive from The Supreme Court of Ohio's National Center for State Courts. Additionally, his commitment to continuous learning is evident in his recent enrollment in Ashland University's Strategic Artificial Intelligence Program Advisor course.
