AZUSA, CA, June 10, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peter Romero, MEd, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing upon more than three decades of professional excellence, Mr. Romero is well-regarded for highlighting the intersection of engineering, mathematics and the arts through the Academy of Leonardo's Apprentice. As the chief executive officer and founder of the educational nonprofit, Mr. Romero has served at the helm of the organization since 2017. Notably, the Academy of Leonardo's Apprentice derives inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci, whose recognition of the interweaving of science, engineering and the arts has played a pivotal role in academic principles since the Renaissance era. To this end, Mr. Romero leverages the teachings of the organization's namesake to offer answers to the challenges that face 21st-century educators, utilizing innovative technologies and learning methods to aid teachers and students in adapting to ever-evolving academic environments.

Impressively, Mr. Romero's achievements with the Academy of Leonardo's Apprentice were celebrated with inclusion in the Western edition of The Wall Street Journal, which shone recognition on Mr. Romero in its issue on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Among its many services, the Academy of Leonardo's Apprentice provides webinar training for educators on project-based learning, a student-directed system that allows educators creative and academic freedom to approach student learning at their level rather than relying on standardized testing procedures.

With considerable expertise in academic modalities, Mr. Romero is noteworthy for his development of Space Islands, a long-distance, online educational program honored at the forefront of its industry as one of the first programs of its kind in the United States. Space Islands was nominated by Senator Hilda L. Solis for California State Resolution number 4058, which was awarded in July 1996 for its outreach efforts and long-distance educational program. Placement in the Library of Congress was awarded the same year for Mr. Romero's program, which led to pioneering work with more than 2.3 million students and teachers across 40 nations. After successfully founding and implementing Space Islands, Mr. Romero was retained by JPL NASA as a consultant between 2002 and 2004. In addition to this vocational appointment, he has been a self-employed instructional designer, community theater director, and public speaking and storytelling coach for over 25 years.

To supplement his career accomplishments, Mr. Romero sought a formal education at the University of Phoenix, receiving a Bachelor of Science in information technology in 2011. Subsequently, he obtained a Master of Education in instructional design and e-learning from Concordia University in 2013. He also holds teaching credentials in programming and system design, as well as in media arts and technology. As a testament to his success in his profession, Mr. Romero earned special recognition from NASA in 1996 and was bestowed with an accolade from former First Lady Hillary Clinton in 2000.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Romero endeavors to utilize the Academy of Leonardo's Apprentice to build digital fluency, cultivating valuable proficiency in the STEM fields for each student who participates in the organization's programs. By meeting students at their level with practical applications focused on pertinent, real-world issues, Mr. Romero aims to foster greater enthusiasm for the STEM disciplines and serve as a leading resource for students and educators alike on a worldwide scale.
