His career, spanning over four decades, began with his role as a unit member in the Misdemeanor Driving Under the Influence Unit in 1984. Mr. Galli's early years were marked by rapid progression through various units within the District Attorney's office, including the juvenile and narcotics units. His expertise and dedication led him to serve as a Special Assistant United States Attorney from 1985 to 1986, further solidifying his reputation in legal circles.

Throughout his tenure at the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office, Mr. Galli held several key positions that showcased his versatility and depth of knowledge in criminal law. Notably, he served as the assistant unit leader of the Felony Narcotics Unit between 1986 and 1989 and again from 2008 to 2010. He also excelled as the supervisor of the Welfare Fraud Unit between 1998 and 2001. Mr. Galli's leadership extended to other roles, such as supervisor of the Restitution Services Unit from 2007 to 2008 and various positions within case issuance and economic crimes units. His commitment to justice and legal excellence culminated in his retirement as a deputy district attorney in 2021, although he continues to teach and advise law enforcement on Fourth Amendment issues.

Mr. Galli's contributions to legal education and training are equally impressive. He was an instructor at the Robert Presley Institute of Criminal Investigation from 2007 to 2023 and has provided valuable insights as a technical adviser and instructor for search warrant law seminars under the California District Attorneys Association. Mr. Galli's expertise in Fourth Amendment law has made him a sought-after lecturer at various institutions, including Stanford University and several police departments.

A highlight of Mr. Galli's career was his exceptional skill in drafting over 2,200 search warrants, with only one being unsuccessfully defended due to external circumstances. This achievement underscores his mastery over search warrant law and his unwavering commitment to upholding justice.

Mr. Galli's academic background included earning an Associate of Arts in history, with honors, from Foothill Community College in 1978. He also achieved a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government, cum laude, from the University of San Francisco in 1980. Furthermore, Mr. Galli completed a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Santa Clara University in 1983. He was admitted to practice by the California Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and holds credentials as a POST-certified level one instructor.

Active in his industry, Mr. Galli is a member of the high-tech crime committee of the California District Attorneys Association. He is also a life member of the California Narcotic Officers' Association and a member of the litigation section of the American Bar Association. Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Galli is deeply committed to community service, contributing to various organizations such as food banks Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund, and Toys for Tots. His civic engagement reflects his broader commitment to societal well-being beyond the courtroom.

Mr. Galli is a notable writer, having contributed numerous articles and book chapters and edited numerous publications. He is working on the sixth edition of "Search Warrant Law & Practice Manual."

In light of his accomplishments, Mr. Galli was nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award from the California District Attorneys Association. He received the Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) Excellence in Training Lifetime Achievement Award from the California Commission on POST in 2022. Among other accolades, Mr. Galli was named the CNOA Region One Prosecutor of the Year by the California Narcotic Officers' Association in 2016, and as the Author of the Year by the California District Attorneys Association in 2009.
