PORTLAND, ME, June 10, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Ikechukwu Amaekpu Chukwukeluo Ndu has been recognized for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Ndu currently serves as an assistant professor in the department of accounting and finance within the University of Maine System. In this role, he educates undergraduate students on financial accounting, and auditing and assurance at the University of Southern Maine, Portland, while teaching fraud investigation, and financial statement analysis at the MBA level at the Maine Business School, University of Maine. Additionally, Dr. Ndu engages in administrative work, serving as co-chair of the graduate curriculum committee where he focuses on improving the university's courses by working with committee members to introduce new courses and make changes to the curriculum. He is also a member of various other committees including the impact committee. To date, Dr. Ndu has authored and co-authored 17 peer-reviewed academic journal article publications on accounting, banking, finance, economics, business, and education. He has presented research papers at academic conferences all over the world with co-authors and won best paper awards.
In addition to his academic career, Dr. Ndu has amassed 20 years of experience as a chartered accountant and certified public accountant. This extensive background in accounting and finance has not only provided him with a solid foundation for his higher education career but has also established him as an expert in financial accounting and reporting, auditing and assurance, and fraud investigation. Dr. Ndu's expertise is further recognized through his membership in prestigious industry-related organizations. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), which he considers one of his most notable achievements, and is a U.S. licensed certified public accountant (CPA) and member of the Montana Board of Public Accountants. Dr. Ndu is also a U.S. certified fraud examiner (CFE) and member of the Association of the Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). In addition, Dr. Ndu is a U.S. certified valuation analyst (CVA) and member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA).
Dr. Ndu's academic journey has played a significant role in his professional success. He received a bachelor's degree in accountancy from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, U.K., in 1997. Following that, Dr. Ndu earned a master's degree in mathematical trading and finance at City, University of London's Bayes Business School; and completed his doctorate in accounting and finance at the School of Business, Economics, and Informatics, Birkbeck, University of London, U.K. His unwavering determination to excel in his field and make a positive impact on the world can be attributed to his educational background and certifications, as well as the influence of his parents, mentors, and siblings.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Ndu is actively involved with civic-minded organizations such as the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center, where he serves as a board member and member of the finance committee; and Portland Community Squash, where he is part of the finance committee. His commitment to community service was recognized with the prestigious University of London Doctoral Studentship Award in 2016.
In his personal life, Dr. Ndu enjoys a variety of activities including golf, squash, tennis, swimming, chess, gardening, and listening to jazz music. In the future, he aims to achieve full professorship, with the ultimate goal of creating a significant difference in society through his work and dedication. Furthermore, Dr. Ndu is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of his fellow global citizens by being actively involved in the local community and establishing a foundation to advance humanity.
