Ms. Green's impact extends beyond her role, as the for-profit organization not only donates to nonprofits but also offers a $1,000 scholarship annually to older women seeking to return to school. In its fifth year, the scholarship is focused on those over 45 who have paused their education for various reasons.
In addition, Ms. Green is the business owner of Generations Long Past, an independent consulting, non-medical in-care provider, and resource establishment, founded in 2022, which provides services to the older adult community which will enhance their dignity, choice, privacy, and independence while aging in place. She has also held the prestigious role of ambassador for the Kingdom of Sanwi since 2014, bridging cultural and diplomatic ties. Her leadership extends to spiritual roles as well, serving as an apostle at Restoration Nation Embassies. since 2002 and president of Selah Ministries Inc. since 2000, where she provides guidance and support to her community.
Ms. Green has held various roles, including working as a court-appointed special advocate at Casa of Baltimore County Inc., providing veteran services support at The Community College of Baltimore County, serving as a caseworker at the American Red Cross and working as a fiscal associate II at the Maryland State Retirement & Pension System. During her time as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), she received a Baltimore County Executive Citation by County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. Her early career was distinguished by her service as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1985 to 1989, during which she received the Meritorious Mast in the US Marine Corps and an honorable discharge.
Ms. Green's educational journey began with earning a bachelor's degree in biblical counseling, pastoral counseling and specialized ministries at the Christian Bible College and Seminary in 2002. She continued to expand her expertise with an Associate of Applied Sciences degree from the Community College of Baltimore County in 2017, earning a Human Services and Elder Care certificate. She graduated summa cum laude and was selected to receive the President's Distinguished Graduate award, giving the commencement speech with over 5,000 in attendance. She currently serves as the president of the CCBC Alumni Association which consist of over 70,000 alumni and is a member of the CCBC Veterans Alumni Association.
In 2020, Ms. Green completed her Bachelor of Science degree Gerontology from Towson University, and most recently, in 2024, she earned a Master of Arts in Psychology: Specialization in Military Psychology Concentration in Psychology of Terrorism from Adler University. Additionally, she is a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success, Phi Theta Kappa, Golden Key International Honor Society, Signa Phi Omega Delta Rho, and Student Veterans Association.
A notable highlight of Ms. Green's career was when she made history by establishing a chapter of the National Association for Black Veterans in the Baltimore area, becoming the first black female to do so. Her efforts were recognized by mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake, who declared February 11 as National Association for Black Veterans Day in her honor. Also, as part of her master's program, she completed a capstone project on veterans transitioning into civilian life, identifying a gap between leaving the military and accessing benefits. She aims to address this gap by forming an organization to assist veterans during this critical period, with plans to expand its reach globally based on her observations of military personnel during her travels in Africa.
Reflecting on her career, what stands out to Ms. Green is her impactful work in helping women overcome trauma. She takes immense pride in witnessing these women heal, move forward and transform their lives. A notable example is a woman from Nigeria who, after participating in Ms. Green's training program, went on to earn her PhD and now serves as a professor at a university in North Carolina. Another source of pride is the recent groundbreaking of an orphanage in Cote d'Ivoire, the Ivory Coast, a testament to her ongoing commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Ms. Green attributes her success to her persistent nature, forged through overcoming life's obstacles. Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Green is a devoted mother who enjoys traveling, reading, and singing. Looking ahead, she aspires to complete her PhD in trauma disaster relief, aiming to work with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to make a global impact while pursuing her passion for travel and helping others.
