His innovative approach to shipping semi-processed products from Africa and completing processing in the U.S. has created jobs in both areas while substantially reducing carbon emissions by streamlining the supply chain directly from Africa to the U.S.
Mr. Van Der Burgh's academic background has been instrumental in his success. He earned a master's degree in marketing from Cornell University as well as an Advanced Management Certificate in artificial intelligence strategy from Cornell University in 2023. Additionally, he holds a bachelor's degree in business, management, marketing and related support services from the University of Johannesburg, completed in 1995.
Throughout his career, Mr. Van Der Burgh has been recognized for his professional contributions with various honors, including being a member of the World Economic Forum Global Council for Oceans and sitting on two diversity equity and inclusion councils. In 2024, he shared his insights as a speaker at The Corporate Council on Africa and is also an active member of the National Fisheries Institute. He attributes these successes to his passion for his work and unwavering commitment to ethical business practices in every organization he works with.
Outside of his career, Mr. Van Der Burgh enjoys sport fishing, spending quality time with his family and watching Penn State Football games.
