An accomplished business professional with years of expertise, Mr. Vought excels as the owner and president of Key Clinic Data Professionals (KCD Pros), which analyzes the strength of healthcare clinics by utilizing over 20 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). He leverages the Predictive Modeling Tool he developed to simultaneously analyze several factors that contribute to operational efficiency and success, including a clinic's billing practices, the clinic's productivity, and changes in insurance to predict changes in gross income, expenses, hiring needs, and the clinic's bottom line. Alongside his work with KCD Pros, he is a senior professional engineer with the Southwest Florida Water Management District, through which he evaluates and develops groundwater models and other water use data. Between 1998 and 2018, he developed computer simulations of water movement to simulate processes such as contaminant transport, conditions for placing new wells and evaluating impacts on nearby wetlands and rivers. Mr. Vought is currently managing the development of a saltwater intrusion model that covers Sarasota, Manatee, and Hillsborough Counties in Florida.
Before joining his current employer and establishing his business, Mr. Vought gained valuable engineering, management, and finance expertise through various roles with numerous employers, including Science Applications International Corporation, Coastal Engineering Consultants, Inc., DHI Water and Environment, Inc., and Hatch. In 2006, he and his wife established Communication Corner and More!, Inc., a pediatric healthcare clinic, which they sold in 2021. An expert in his field, Mr. Vought holds a Bachelor of Science in physics and mathematics from the State University of New York at Oswego. Subsequently, he expanded his professional knowledge, earning two Master of Science degrees in civil engineering and nuclear engineering from Ohio State University and completing a fellowship in low-level radioactive waste management through the U.S. Department of Energy. The fellowship also allowed him to conduct research at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Mr. Vought has been awarded throughout his career with honors such as a lifetime membership in Phi Kappa Phi and election into Sigma Pi Sigma. Additionally, he is a founding member of Tampa Guys for Good, an organization where members pool their time and money to help a variety of local non-profits succeed.
Due to his vast breadth of personal and professional accomplishments, Mr. Vought authored "I'm Supposed to Make a Difference: A Memoir About Overcoming Trauma and Abuse" in 2021. Its impact on survivors of childhood trauma has been the highlight of his career. In light of his outstanding achievements, he has been honored many times, earning Employee Awards through CDM and the Southwest Florida Water Management District and earning several promotions such as being named Global Director of GoldSim Modeling at Hatch.
While many factors have contributed to his success, Mr. Vought notes that his supportive network has helped him throughout his career. In addition to his parents, Ronald and Mary Ellen Vought, he attributes his success to his graduate school adviser, Dr. Audeen Fentiman, and his first boss at Science Applications International Corporation Tad Fox. Looking ahead, Mr. Vought aims to expand Key Clinic Data Professionals and elevate its software to the next level. Ultimately, he wants to make the software accessible online so that others can benefit more easily.
