In this capacity, he is the primacy contact for clients regarding new engagements and responses to RFPs and RFIs, manages business development opportunities, serves as a liaison with credit rating agencies, and maintains compliance with Municipal Securities Rule Board, which he assisted in the processes of gaining a license to become a municipal securities broker dealer. Before joining Momentus, Mr. Alexander worked with the municipal finance department as the director for municipal finance investment banking at Barclays.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Alexander gained valuable expertise in data analysis management, business development, leadership, and more in senior positions with Fitch Ratings and S&P Global Ratings, through which he was a senior director, analytical manager, director, associate director of U.S. public finance, and corporate and government finance associate. An expert in his field, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in public administration from Kentucky State University in 2003. Subsequently, Mr. Alexander expanded his professional knowledge by completing a Master of Science in public and urban policy from The New School's Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment, a S&P Global Ratings Analytical Certification through New York University, and series 52, 53, 63, and 79 licenses.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Alexander aligns himself with the Council of Urban Professionals, the Opportunity Finance Network, Council of Development Finance Agencies, the Municipal Analyst Group of New York, and the National Association of State Housing Finance Agencies. In conjunction with his work in finance, he contributed to his community as a treasurer for the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative board of directors between 2017 and 2019.
In recognition of his professional achievements, Mr. Alexander was recognized by Network Journal with the 40 Under 40 Award. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in completing a fellowship at The New School's Community Development Finance Lab, which was offered to him by the Dean of the school. Only 6 students were accepted to the fellowship each year. Upon getting involved in community development, he realized it was his true calling and became his passion. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to his confidence, determination, and strong supporters, including Dianne Alexander (mother), Valerie White, Beatriz Peguero, Wendy Dolber, Dwayne Cash, Jeurys Grullon and Teresa Galicia. Looking ahead, Mr. Alexander aims to take his work to the next level before eventually slowing down and taking a step back from his career.
