Ms. DeVidar's diverse, multicultural and distinctly non-cookie-cutter career spans 30 years of vision, innovation and self-actualization.
ALEXANDRIA, VA, June 18, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nicolette DeVidar, born Kuba, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. DeVidar's diverse, multicultural and distinctly non-cookie-cutter career spans 30 years of vision, innovation and self-actualization.
Currently serving as Founder and President of urban2050, a non-profit media organization that produces TV programs with a focus on co-creating a sustainable future in a world we want to live in, Ms. DeVidar taps into collective intelligence and individuals' inner power to tackle the big issues of our time -- bridging tradition and modernity, spirituality and science, arts and nature, the left and the right hemispheres, the principles of nature and modern day life. Dedicated to a future aligned with nature, liberty and enabling each other in the pursuit of happiness, urban2050's content integrates diverse worldviews transcending a heavily politicized American society. Ms. DeVidar hosts the weekly live Smart Sustainability TV show and various podcasts that reconnect with nature, ourselves and inner truths as well as the debuting Co-Create America – a TV program that explores what Americans really think, want and envision as their future, anchored in the Constitution and a more truthful, healthy way of life coinciding with spiritual awakening.
Integrating opposites has been the red thread in Ms. DeVidar's life and career path. Born in Germany in 1970, a few miles from the Iron Curtain, at a border town between East and West, navigating extremes influenced her outlook on life. Born into a porcelain family business in the third generation with original roots in the spa town of Carlsbad, today Carlo-vi-vary in the Czech Republic, the family survived the brutal expulsion of the Sudeten-Germans at the end of WWII and resettled across the border, in Germany. They rebuilt their porcelain factory and started anew. As a child, Ms. DeVidar felt a strong inner pull towards the U.S.
Set to start her career initially in consumer and luxury goods with L'Oreal Group in Paris, she withdrew from the offered role when pregnant and came with her then husband, an American Diplomat to the U.S. In Washington, D.C., she entered the media industry working for Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle and then in 2006 for MHzNetworks, a U.S. media outlet bringing international programming to America. In that capacity, Ms. DeVidar initiated and worked on projects with NHK World, France24, PBS affiliates, and other international broadcasters across the U.S. media landscape. After seven years in marketing and strategy roles in broadcasting, in 2010, Ms. DeVidar shifted her focus to family and entrepreneurship, realizing an idea she held for years. She launched Terra Maxima, a healthy skin and wellness product line for travelers and, adding on to that the Beauty Distillery, a pioneering concept offering Clean Beauty on Draft. In 2015, Ms. DeVidar joined The McCormick Group in Arlington, a Forbes listed executive search firm where her experience of diverse sectors, governance structures and people served as building blocks for the growing field of organizational transformation. Inspired by Fredmund Malik, a world leader in transforming businesses into living organisms, and her own whole systems approach to nature, business and people, she created a practice for Digital Transformation and Innovation at The McCormick Group and guest lectured Global Business and Management Transformation at Georgetown under Michael Czinkota, Chair for International Business. In 2018, she joined ICMA (International City and Management Association) as CPO. Her career came full circle in 2020 when she jumped at the chance to host a TV show about co-creation and real sustainability that empowers people – something she wanted to do all her life.
Ms. DeVidar speaks, German, English, French and Spanish. In 1998, she earned an MBA from Ecole Des Ponts Business School in Paris, France. She was married to an American Diplomat from 1998 to 2009, and life companion of Media Markt founder Walter Gunz from 2012 to 2022.
She co-chairs the Golden Door Forum, a global initiative to rebuild the world in truth and integrity and is part of Ashoka's Spiritual Changemaker Community.
