Dr. Kramer is a distinguished figure in veterinary medicine whose career spans over thirty years and is marked by significant contributions to veterinary cardiology and medical device innovation. Since 1989, he has been active as the chief of staff at Atlantic Coast New York Veterinary Specialists, with locations in Farmingdale and Bohemia, where he has led a team of professionals in providing top-tier care for animals.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Kramer has been the founder and chief executive officer of Ultravet Medical Devices since 2011. Moreover, he has served as an adjunct professor at Long Island University in the school of veterinary medicine since 2019, where he was instrumental in helping form the veterinary school on campus. Dr. Kramer's practice was recruited as a training site for the university, then inspected and interviewed by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) for preliminary accreditation. The first class will graduate in 2024, and the AVMA has also recently completed its committee on education certification for the school.

Pet Vet notably owned over 100 facilities then, but it has since grown to approximately 480 and is now owned by the private equity group KKR.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kramer has dedicated much time to clinical research specific to veterinary cardiology and respiratory disease. He has secured five U.S. patents, with a sixth current in progress. These patents primarily focus on veterinary medical devices that have significantly impacted the treatment of cardiac conditions in animals. Dr. Kramer's work on mitral valve transcatheter and mitral valve technologies has been particularly rewarding, offering revolutionary approaches to treating mitral valve disease in humans and dogs.
Dr. Kramer earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University in 1986, followed by an internship and residency in internal medicine and cardiology at the Animal Medical Center in New York. He holds board certification through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, a credential that attests to his expertise and specialization in veterinary cardiology.
Besides his extensive educational background, Dr. Kramer's commitment to veterinary medicine is further demonstrated through his active membership in several prestigious organizations, including the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, the American College of Cardiology, and the AVMA. These affiliations underscore his dedication to staying at the forefront of advancements in his field and contributing to the broader veterinary community. Outside of these endeavors, Dr. Kramer has shown a strong commitment to civic engagement through his role as a member of the board of advisors for Cumming's School of Veterinary Medicine since 2018. He also notably established The George and Vivian Kramer Scholarship at Tufts University to honor his parents' legacy.
