Ms. Debney Shaw is a distinguished author, consultant and attorney with a dynamic career that spans over three decades. As the owner and managing director of CelaPhontus LLC, she has led the company to specialize in decision strategy innovation, including leadership training and management and organizational facilitation and development. Her role encompasses service as an international speaker and consultant, through which she leverages her extensive experience in management, organization and law to offer innovative strategies for professional and personal development.

Before founding CelaPhontus LLC, Ms. Debney Shaw served in various capacities contributing to her rich professional background. To wit, she completed a clerkship at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California for five years. She held externships with Chief Judge Terry Hatter of the District Court for the Central District of California and at the Alternate Public Defenders Office in Van Nuys, California.

Since becoming a licensed attorney in 2003, Ms. Debney Shaw has worked in California and Washington, DC, engaging in federal legal practice that spans several areas of law. Her diverse background also includes positions as a national and international contract negotiator in the aviation industry in California, a unit manager for network news in New York, a freelance associate producer in film, a spokesperson for industrial and commercial events, an analyst for funding support and development at a nonprofit homeless health and human services organization, and an assistant on remediation for the underground storage tank program of the US Postal Service, conducted by a contracted architectural and engineering firm.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Debney Shaw has been an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the Washington Bar Association, the California Bar Association, the Lawyers Bar Association San Francisco, CA Bar Association, the Arts Club of Washington DC, and the Asian American Chamber of Commerce, among others. She has received honors acknowledging her work at United Air Lines with a commendation as "Most Inspirational Employee". Beyond Ms. Debney Shaw's professional life, she is actively involved with civic-minded organizations that reflect her commitment to community service, including as a business mentor at CEO Women in Oakland, CA, and a facilitator of local community programs for the Institute of Noetic Science.

Ms. Debney Shaw's success is deeply rooted in her education. After studying broadcast communications and psychology at Marquette University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1989, and was honored by membership in PSI CHI, the national honors society in psychology, she went on to the University of West Los Angeles School of Law, from which she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1996 as well as a commendation for exceptional services to the law school as a class representative. In accounting for Ms. Debney Shaw's life and career achievements, she largely credits her family foundations and upbringing, which emphasized the power of subjective awareness and internal resources, along with cognitive skills through which one could develop commitment and resilience in pursuing goals.

Ms. Debney Shaw's creative contributions include authoring "How The Tin Man Found His Brain – One Attorney's Path for Perceptual Development," published by Balboa Press in 2020, and which is followed by two more sequels, as well as writing "Global Forums: A Potential Resource for Young Lawyers' Domestic Practice" for the ABA Business Law – Young Lawyers Electronic Newsletter in 2012. Currently, she is working on "The Five Lives of Agnieszka", a birth to death saga and historical fiction based on her grandmother's life, representing an allegory for survival and resilience.

In her personal life, outside of her career achievements and aspirations, Ms. Debney Shaw enjoys traveling, attending cultural events, exploring food cultures, listening to music, and reading. Looking toward the future, she continues writing, with plans for several additional works, including a workbook on decision strategy and a children's book on the possibilities in life.
