After earning a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in accounting from Brigham Young University, Mr. Hansen began his career with Los Angeles County's Department of Hospitals and Harbor General Hospital, where he was an administrative staff member for the following three years. During this time, he discovered a passion for hospital administration and decided to pursue higher education in the field. Upon graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1969 with a Master of Public Health in hospital administration, Mr. Hansen joined Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital.
Two decades later, Mr. Hansen was inspired to establish an offshore malpractice/professional liability insurance company in Bermuda after encountering a malpractice crisis at Daniel Freeman Memorial that affected physicians and the hospital. In the ensuing years, he helped create a preferred provider network and a third-party administrator before selling the insurance company and proposing a similar exclusive provider network program to Vanderbilt University. Drawing on years of administrative expertise, Mr. Hansen excels as the owner of Tall Tree Administrators, Inc., which has provided its clientele with a unique healthcare experience for over two decades.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Hansen aligns himself with the Hospital Association of Southern California. He contributes to his community by volunteering at a women's prison in conjunction with his work. Given his professional achievements, his company has been recognized as the Best TPA in Salt Lake through the National Commerce Association and an Outstanding TPA in Utah for the last ten years.
