Deborah Strebel Pierce Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Law Enforcement

Deborah Pierce channels years of expertise into her work with the Consortium for Women Leaders in Public Service



Following the events of September 11, 2001, she was promoted to the position of SAC Minneapolis over Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.

    RAMSEY, MN, June 21, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah Pierce has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in health and physical education from Baldwin-Wallace College, Ms. Pierce received a master's degree in sport psychology from Cleveland State University. She worked as a health and physical education teacher and coach for five years. She joined the FBI in 1979 and focused on investigating fraud and corruption. When her husband was transferred to FBI Headquarters in Washington DC, she was transferred to the Alexandria field office where she served as co-case agent on a major military procurement fraud case code named lllwind. Following the success of the investigation, she was promoted to a supervisory position in the Undercover Unit overseeing undercover operations nationwide. She was then transferred to the Sacramento field office to supervise a major legislative corruption case as well as a major health care/insurance fraud case.

A subsequent promotion moved her to the position of Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Milwaukee field office in the late 1990s where she had purview over all criminal and terrorism investigations. Upon the retirement of the Special Agent in Charge (SAC), she served as Acting SAC until her promotion to serve as one of eight Senior Executive Service FBI Inspectors.

Following the events of September 11, 2001, she was promoted to the position of SAC Minneapolis over Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. Her dedication and skill were recognized with her appointment as the first female Deputy Assistant Director of the Criminal Division of the FBI and in 2005, she was given the Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive Service in the FBI for noteworthy achievement in public service.

She retired in 2006, however continued to expand her professional expertise through roles with the Minnesota Department of Public Service, Pierce Consulting, Pierce-Weber Partnership, teaching various classes at St Catherine University and the University of Minnesota as well as serving on multiple boards including lnfraGard and the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI. She has served as the Chair of the Minnesota-Dakotas Chapter of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI since 2008 and previously served on the board for the Woman's Club of Minneapolis where she has been a member since 2002.

Backed by her considerable experience, Ms. Pierce helped found and serve on the board of directors for the Consortium for Women Leaders in Public Service. This nonprofit focused on providing leadership training for future women leaders in Minnesota and Peru. She has also travelled for the Department of State and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe to promote women in law enforcement with police agencies overseas. She continues to stay busy pursuing her passion for art crime by giving presentations at venues such as the Minneapolis Institute of Art as well as local organizations throughout Minnesota.
