Before his current position, Mr. Castano was a senior project manager at HHCP Architects from 2013 to 2020. His expertise was further solidified through various leadership positions, such as a project coordinator and BIM coordinator at Rogers, Lovelock & Fritz, an architect technician at Baker Barrios Architects and a project manager at Stephen E. Davis Architects Inc. Before immigrating to the United States from Colombia in 2001, he was the owner and project director for CONSA LTDA & CM Construcciones.
Associated with various industry-related organizations, Mr. Castano is an active member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and has been a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) since 2005. In recognition of his great contributions to architecture and community development, the AIA honored him with the International Service Award in 2018.
Mr. Castano's academic background includes a Master of Architecture from the National University of Colombia, earned in 1992. His commitment to industry standards is further evidenced through his numerous certifications, including as an architect, roofing contractor and building contractor in the state of Florida, along with holding architecture licenses in Florida, Louisiana, Michigan, Illinois, Texas and Colombia. He is also a LEED AP, granted by the USGBC Central Coast Green Building Council.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Castano enjoys spending time with family, traveling and going to the beach.
