Outside of this passion she shared with her aunt, her own passion for fashion led her to pursue a degree in fashion design from Norris College. Through her education and internships with renowned companies, she gained valuable experience in the field. Although her college and fashion experiences may seem distant, they have played a crucial role in her growth and skill development, and she remains grateful for the support and encouragement from former colleagues and supervisors, which to this day motivate her commitment to growth.
Despite Ms. Tomeo's educational background being grounded in fashion design, unforeseen circumstances as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to pivot her career, and she focused on honing her baking skills while searching for a job. Then, following the passing of her aunt after a battle with melanoma cancer, she found solace in the memories and skills she inherited from her beloved aunt and decided to honor her by venturing into the baking business. With her family's unwavering support, Ms. Tomeo expanded their antique store to include a bakery, combining her passion for baking with her family's legacy.
As a result of her high-quality baked goods, Ms. Tomeo received recognition for the best cookies on Long Island in 2023—a testament to her perseverance and an accomplishment that not only marks a significant professional milestone but holds great personal value.
