Mr. Showalter has established himself as a distinguished professional in project and program management and emergency management. Since 2023, he has been a principal program manager at Odyssey Systems, a leading provider of management, analytical, and technical support services for the government and private sectors. In this role, he has been instrumental in delivering F-16 Mission Planning Systems to allies, bolstering U.S. and foreign military cooperation and interoperability. Mr. Showalter has also found success as a facilities unit leader for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and as part owner and president of Trendweld Co. LLC.
Before his current work, Mr. Showalter held various other leadership positions, including as a senior project manager at EDG and as a foreign military sales program manager for the U.S. Air Force. He also held several significant roles through a contract with Syncom Space Services on behalf of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). His primary job was as an energy control systems engineer, from which he was promoted to operations and maintenance supervisor, and later to operations and maintenance task order manager. Additionally, during emergency management activities, he initially served as branch operations supervisor and was later promoted to operations section chief. During his tenure at NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, his leadership in organizational change led to a very successful outcome, significantly increasing the number of projects managed in-house.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Showalter garnered a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2017 and a Master of Science in operations and project management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021.
Additionally, he has obtained several certifications relevant to his field, including as a contracting officer's representative level II from the Federal Acquisition Institute, in advanced incident command systems through the New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, and several other credentials through FEMA, NASA, and other organizations.
Mr. Showalter's expertise is further evidenced by his memberships in prestigious organizations, such as the National Contract Management Association, and the Coast Young Professionals. Civically, he has been active on the board of governors for the Propeller Club of the U.S. Port of New Orleans, as a member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, as a fundraising volunteer for the Wounded Warrior Project, and, among other affiliations, as a member of the Society of Collegiate Leadership and Achievement.
Having received numerous awards for his contributions and achievements, Mr. Showalter received an Excellence Award from NASA, a Spot Award from Odyssey Systems, an Excel Leadership Award from Southeastern University, and an FMS Team Excellence Award from the Air Force AFLCMC in 2022.
Mr. Showalter remains steadfast about his dedication to positively impacting others' lives through his work. He is also committed to furthering his education by earning a doctorate within the next few years to enhance his capabilities within the industry.
