Dr. Leyfman is a distinguished physician and immunotherapy researcher who has been honing his expertise for several years. Beginning his career at 16, Dr. Leyfman has contributed significantly to research ranging from basic science to clinical trials for anti-cancer therapies. After being trained by the pioneers of CAR T cell therapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Leyfman remains at the forefront of immunotherapy innovation through his ongoing research contributions.

Dr. Leyfman's career journey includes several pivotal roles that have contributed to his reputation as a rising star in CAR T cell therapy, immunotherapy, and cellular therapy. During the pandemic, he was recruited by the Global COVID-19 Task Force and served as Director of the Immunology Division, where he played a crucial part in developing initial mechanisms of COVID-19 and its interplay with cancer, which remain relevant today.

Alongside his research innovations, Dr. Leyfman is deeply passionate about medical education. In 2021, he co-founded MedNews Week, a platform dedicated to combating medical misinformation and enhancing global medical education, particularly in lower socioeconomic regions, where he serves as Executive Director. Equally important to Dr. Leyfman is mentoring the next generation of medical leaders. As part of this initiative, he mentors 23 trainees globally, from high school to medical school.

In preparation for his medical career, Dr. Leyfman graduated with an Advanced Regents Diploma from the Medical Sciences Institute at Midwood High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology with research honors and minor in chemistry from Stony Brook University, graduating summa cum laude, and a Doctor of Medicine from Pennsylvania State University. He subsequently completed an internship and residency at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Leyfman is a professional member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Hematology, the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy, the American College of Physicians, and its New York chapter. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is actively involved in civic-minded organizations. Since 2023, he has served on the executive committee of Music Beats Cancer. He also contributed significantly to the International Journal of Clinical Research as a Section Editor, Founder and Director of its Webinar Division, and developer of a research course from 2021 to 2022.

Dr. Leyfman's contributions to cancer research and immunotherapy have been recognized with several awards, including being recognized among the 40 Under 40 Emerging Leaders in Cancer, receiving the Advanced Therapy Young Scientist Award for 2023-2024, 2023 Lymphoma, Leukemia & Myeloma Congress' Global Hero in Healthcare Award, and the ASCO Breakthrough Conquer Cancer Foundation Merit Award in 2023, among others.

Dr. Leyfman attributes his remarkable success to his unwavering motivation and resilience, shaped by his early life experiences. As one of the few survivors of radiation exposure from the Chernobyl disaster in one of Belarus's largest hospitals, he gained strength and humility that fueled his dedication to positively impacting patients' lives through medical innovation. Looking ahead, Dr. Leyfman is committed to completing his clinical training and making significant advancements in cell therapy and immunotherapy research, aiming to transform groundbreaking discoveries into tangible clinical applications.
