From 2007 to 2016, Mr. Asher held several clinical reimbursement specialist positions, which were preceded by roles as district director of case management at Kindred Healthcare in 2007 and regional director of clinical reimbursement at Extendicare Health Services Inc. from 2006 to 2007. He began his career at Integrated Health Services Inc. in 1990 where he worked in the clinical care areas until he transitioned to begin working as the lead MDS Coordinator from 2001 to 2006.
Mr. Asher's success is supported by his solid educational foundation and professional memberships. He became a registered nurse after he obtained an associate degree in nursing from Edison State Community College in 2001. He later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2011 and a Master of Business Administration in 2014, both from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is professionally affiliated with the American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing and the Ohio Health Care Association's Regulatory Compliance Committee, memberships that have allowed him to stay abreast of industry trends and contribute to discussions on improving post-acute care nursing practices.
Further showcasing Mr. Asher's professional health care expertise are the several licenses and certifications he has garnered during his career. He has been active as a licensed nursing home administrator, a registered nurse, a licensed practical nurse, and a state tested nursing assistant, while his certifications include Core of Knowledge and Educational Leadership and Administration. These credentials have been instrumental to his success, which he attributes to early exposure in health care through his mother's work in a nursing facility since 1976, where empathy and compassion became second nature to him.
