Among his many other career accomplishments, Dr. Dhurandhar has been an invited speaker and panelist at the AI Innovation Symposium at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Dhurandhar's academic background is vast. He received a Bachelor of Engineering in computer engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2004. He later attended the University of Florida, where he acquired a Master of Science in computer science in 2005 and a Doctor of Philosophy in machine learning and data mining in 2009. Additionally, Dr. Dhurandhar received certification as an AI skills academy advisor and coach through IBM in 2019.
As a dedicated professional in his field, Dr. Dhurandhar had the opportunity to serve as a scientific advisory board member for LNAI. He served in the same capacity for the National Science Foundation research traineeship program on ethical AI at the University of Texas at Austin and for Beyond Explainable AI.
As part of his ongoing civic engagement and community service, Dr. Dhurandhar participates in environmental cleanups and has volunteered with No Kill Animal Center. In terms of extra-curricular activities, he is an avid hiker and chess player. Not to mention he has been an inter-regional ballroom dance champion in Fred Astaire organized competitions.
In light of his success, Dr. Dhurandhar has received numerous accolades, including a Best of ICDM by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in 2015 and 2020, an Outstanding Technical Achievement Award from IBM in 2019, a Corporate Technical Recognition Award from IBM in 2021, and an Outstanding Technical Achievement Award from IBM in 2023.
