He served as a consultant to PennState Health at the Hershey Medical Center, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. His tenure at PennState Health also includes being director of clinical simulation from 2008 to 2014, where he played a pivotal role in advancing medical training and education. There, he knew of a problem in the CPR procedure (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation). He addressed that, and his efforts contributed to saving many lives.
Before his impactful work at PennState Health, Mr. Moyer served as the chief executive officer of AgriStar Farms from 1990 to 2008. He demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills during this period, driving the company's growth and success. Before his tenure at AgriStar Farms, he was the vice-president of planning and marketing at Pinnacle Health from 1980 to 1990, where he was instrumental in developing comprehensive marketing strategies that significantly enhanced the organization's outreach and service delivery. There he realized the hospital needed to provide health to patients on their own terms. He created the first urgent care center in the Eastern United States.
Mr. Moyer's career began in academia as a Teaching Fellow at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. This early experience in education laid a strong foundation for his subsequent roles in health care management and business strategy. Throughout his career, he has been an active member of the Hershey Rotary since 1983, reflecting his commitment to community service and professional development.
Mr. Moyer's educational achievements have been instrumental to his success. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Lebanon Valley College and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, earned in 1980. These studies gave him the analytical and financial acumen necessary for various leadership roles. He attributes his success to passion and hard work in his field.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Moyer is actively involved in civic-minded organizations. In retirement, he created the WayForward House corporation, a non-profit that helps foster children, the most abused and traumatized population in society. He recruited foster care experts to his Board of Directors and had them write the business plan. His corporation seamlessly connects effective therapy, strong academic achievement, and social skills, then leverages their education into great-paying careers. He takes children headed for a ruinous future and turns them into success.
