Lety is the Vice President of Philanthropy at The International Community Foundation. In this capacity, she specializes in fundraising efforts to enhance and nurture donor relationships across the United States, with a particular focus on those interested in making impactful contributions or investments in Mexico, Central, and South America. Lety oversees the fundraising department and is deeply involved in issues related to migration, education, and food security. Her work includes arranging immersive tours for high-profile donors throughout Mexico, which include visits to nonprofit organizations and community-centric establishments. Lety also facilitates visits to the Mexico–United States border, providing her donors with an opportunity for reflection on the disparities between the two regions.

Before her current position, Lety served in multiple other positions with The International Community Foundation, beginning as a marketing and development manager in 2017, and working her way up to Senior Development Officer and then Director of Philanthropy. Her career in nonprofit management began earlier, with roles including executive director at Boys and Girls Club of Tijuana and Executive Director at Julio César Chávez Foundation. Lety also held positions as Social Investment Director at Fundación Dibujando un Mañana and Youth Program National Director at Centro de Formación Humana. Her journey into philanthropy started as an assistant to the deputy attorney and mediator at Procuraduría General de Justicia del Estado and as a coordinator of advancement and humanities at Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo.

Lety's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in international business from the University of Burgos in 2003, followed by graduating from the international trade, international relations, and foreign affairs program at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. She earned a Master's Degree in Family Sciences for Counseling from Anáhuac University in 2012, and a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of San Diego in 2023. Lety has further advanced her expertise through numerous certifications, such as a diploma in strengthening management capacities for civil society organizations from the United States Agency for International Development, and certification in Nonprofit Management from United Way Mexico.

Lety is committed to civic engagement beyond even her everyday nonprofit work, as evidenced through her contributions to Regnum Christi in Budapest, Hungary and her support for Homeboy Industries, a youth program nonprofit. In addition, she performs volunteer work with various community initiatives. Lety volunteers regularly to a food kitchen in Tijuana, Mexico, aiding their mission to provide meals for around a million hungry people every year.

Lety's dedication to being a force for good in the world has been recognized with such esteemed accolades as the Non-Profit Rising Star Award from San Diego Magazine's Celebrating Women Summit in 2023, and the Outstanding Development Professional of the Year Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2021. She attributes her success to a motivation to witness tangible changes through her work. Lety takes great satisfaction in achieving meaningful outcomes through her philanthropic initiatives, and she especially loves seeing smiles on the faces of children positively impacted by her work.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Lety is a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoys exploring San Diego, engaging with Peloton workouts, and delving into history. Her aspirations include continuing her journey within the nonprofit world.
