Mr. Nau currently serves as the chief operating officer and head of partnership at Kura Technologies, where he has been instrumental since 2023. In this role, he oversees operations, strategy, and partnerships, with a focus on fostering partnerships within the fintech industry, with financial ecosystem enablers, business associations and regulatory bodies. His efforts have significantly contributed to operationalizing Kura, strengthening the digital transformation of businesses in the region, and reinforcing financial inclusion and the fintech ecosystem. Fonkoze is a family of organizations that work together to provide the financial and non-financial services to empower Haitians—primarily women—to lift their families out of poverty. Mr. Nau is also a member of the Advisory Board of Haiti Policy House, a think tank focusing on geopolitical issues specific to Haiti, aiming to inform and influence policymakers, the media, and the public about Haiti's challenges and potential solutions. Finally, Mr. Nau is the founding member of the Haiti fintech Association, which seeks to leverage the fintech industry in Haiti and the Caribbean region.
Before embarking on his current career path, Mr. Nau held fellowship positions as a Venture Capital fellow at Going VC and as an Investment and Business Strategy fellow at SeaAhead in 2023. At Going VC, he participated in a flagship program that provides access to vetted angel investment opportunities, and frameworks to help fellows become more effective investors. At SeaAhead, an innovation hub supporting Bluetech start-ups and growth-stage companies, he focused on early-stage investment, AI application on bluetech industry and business strategy.
Mr. Nau's earlier roles include serving as the General Manager at Alpha Haiti from 2018 to 2022, where he led the first full-feature tech business accelerator in the Caribbean region. He was also the National Coordinator for Haiti at the International Network on Financial Education under OECD from 2011 to 2021. Additionally, from 2019-2022, he served as a board member and strategic business adviser at SSBP, Haiti's largest small and mid-size business association.
On the other hand, Mr. Nau served as an economic and investment adviser to the Government of the Republic of Haiti, overseeing the Economic Council with a focus on economic development, financial inclusion, public-private partnership, impact investing, regional economics, building the business ecosystem, and driving the innovation agenda. Additionally, from 2016 to 2021, he was the Director of Private Sector Development Division and Project Manager for the Doing Business Reform at the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Haiti. From 2014 to 2023, he also served as a Professor of Public Policy at the Centre de Techniques de Planification et d'Économie Appliquée (CTPEA).
A diverse educational background supports Mr. Nau's professional endeavors, beginning with a bachelor's degree in quantitative applied economics from the CTPEA in 2005. He subsequently earned a master's degree in public policy and public finance policy from Georgia State University (GSU) in 2013, followed by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2022, where he was named to the Dean's list. He focused on fintech, startup strategy, and business ecosystems in emerging markets and co-founded the MIT Caribbean Business Club. His studies also include executive education on Financial Inclusion Policy and Strategy at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) in 2015, a certificate in Driving Economic Growth through Entrepreneurial Ecosystem from Babson's FW Olin Graduate School of Business in 2016, and a certificat de spécialité in Public Policies from the École Nationale d'Administration (ENA) in 2016, among other certifications related to his field.
Outside his main professional and academic endeavors, Mr. Nau's leadership contributions have been recognized with several awards. He was featured in the Haitian Leader Spotlight by the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals in 2014, inducted into the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars by Georgia State University in 2012, and received the prestigious Fulbright Scholar fellowship in 2011, among other accolades. Moreover, in 2013, Mr. Nau became one of the first Caribbean citizens to be a fellow of the New Leader Council Institute (NLC), the premier leadership and professional development program in the US for young professionals, which offers training, mentoring, networking, and political advancement opportunities.
Beyond his primary career path, Mr. Nau is dedicated to building businesses within the financial sector that focus on investing in start-ups across the Caribbean. His long-term goals include launching a Caribbean early-stage venture fund that aims at scaling high-growth potential early-stage and emerging companies that adhere to corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability principles, providing inclusive and sustainable solutions.
