QUINLAN, TX, June 28, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Velma M. McMillan, multi-franchise owner of the Blo Blow Dry Bar and chief financial officer of Quantum Alliance, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the Dallas/Fort Worth Edition of The Wall Street Journal on May 29, 2024.
Driven by the conviction that any dream is attainable if one works hard enough, Ms. McMillan has achieved success as an entrepreneur in both the insurance industry and cosmetology, serving as the chief financial officer (CFO) of Quantum Alliance and the owner of a local franchise, Blo Blow Dry Bar. In her capacity at Quantum, she works diligently to help clients increase their sales volume and retain customers, offering personal and business policy packages that encompass auto insurance, homeowner coverage, business lines, and roadside assistance. As the company's CFO, Ms. McMillan is primarily responsible for reconciling budgets, tracking agency revenue, onboarding staff and employee training.
Ms. McMillan became involved in the insurance field to provide for her children. After working for several insurance firms and specializing in sales, she transitioned to underwriting, accounting and marketing at the Apollo Managing General Agency, where she worked from 2014 to 2016. Following this period, she established Quantum Alliance alongside her husband, Chuck.
Outside of her work at Quantum, Ms. McMillan channeled her love for personal aesthetics into a Blo Blow Dry Bar franchise location in Rockwall, Texas, in 2023. The Blo Blow Dry Bar was founded in 2007 and supplies clients with the most popular hair styling services. Ms. McMillan became a franchisee to leave a prosperous legacy for her children and grandchildren, including her son, who is a member of the staff at the Rockwall location. She currently owns four Blo Blow Dry Bars, located in Texas and Virginia, and she plans to expand soon.
Ms. McMillan sought an education at Capella University, where she attained a bachelor's degree in business administration and management in 2016 and a Master of Business Administration, with a minor in marketing, in 2018. Well-qualified in her field, she holds a claims adjuster license in more than 10 states and a property and casualty license in 35 states.
Dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. McMillan supports her community as a member of the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce and the Professional Women's Association of Rockwall. Likewise, she is an avid supporter of the local Boys and Girls Club, Meals on Wheels and Women in Need. In her spare time, she enjoys attending women's conferences, traveling for leisure and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
