Distinguished for his longstanding tenure as an entrepreneur in the information technology industry, Mr. Gibert served as the co-founder and chief executive officer of Venture Technologies from 1986 until the company was acquired by ConvergeOne in 2019. Venture Technologies – a technology and cloud services provider – was initially funded by a $189,000 start-up loan and sold to ConvergeOne in a $92 million deal. As the company's chief executive, Mr. Gibert facilitated several mergers and acquisitions, thereby propelling the company forward to become one of the most recognized technology solutions providers in the country.
Since 2020, Mr. Gibert has served as a radio show host on SuperTalk Mississippi with his eponymous show "MidDays with Gerard Gibert," which airs statewide each weekday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and features interviews with various state and federal officials, policy advocates and community leaders across the state of Mississippi. Notably, his radio show broadcasts his astute analyses of the political, economic and cultural issues that shape the ever-changing American landscape. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gibert served as a senior consultant for Arthur Andersen & Co. from 1980 to 1985, where he worked in the division that later became known as Accenture.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Gibert pursued formal education at the University of Mississippi, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting in 1980. He also earned credentials as a certified computing professional via the Association of Information Technology Professionals. Civically engaged as well, he has served as board chairperson of Empower Mississippi since the organization's inception in 2014 and was recently re-appointed to a new five-year term on the board of the Mississippi Lottery Corporation, having previously served as the initial vice chairman of the board. He was also past president and has served on the Madison County Economic Development Authority since 2018.
In the coming years, Mr. Gibert aims to enter the field of politics and deepen his affiliation with educational institutions, particularly his alma mater. Likewise, he intends to continue cultivating the success of "MidDays with Gerard Gibert" and appear as a guest on national radio or television.
