Lending his professional expertise to his community, Mr. Dossett has served as an ombudsman for the Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve, a U.S. Department of Defense office responsible for developing and promoting supportive work environments for service members in the reserves. In his role, he worked with employers and service members to help them understand the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. Mr. Dossett was also called up when conflicts arose to mitigate and correct situations instead of having to pursue legal means. Among other contributions, Mr. Dossett has been active as a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
In light of his success, Mr. Dossett was named as the Ombudsman of the Year for 2013-2014. He also received a President's Volunteer Service Award in 2013, was recognized as the Marleen Sutton Clerk of the Year and as the National Republican County Official of the Year by the National Conference of Republican County Officials in 2005, and received an Outstanding Service in Election Administration Award in 2004. Mr. Dossett's people and leadership skills have been critical to his success.
